Overview

"Bright children laugh at my jokes; gifted children tell jokes that I laugh at."

The activities that are profiled can be used as an entire unit, or separately as a break from the norm.  As with any new teaching ideas that we encounter, I encourage you to make them your own.  However, to ensure that our gifted learners stretch their minds into the abstract, make sure that these activities maintain focus on the top half of Bloom's revised taxonomy: analyzing, evaluating, and creating.  These activities lend themselves to deep discussion.  Grouping students for this purpose is ideal and gives them endless opportunites to share with each other.

If you discover any ideas or resources that can be used to enhance these activities, or you create entirely new activities, please e-mail me with the information.  I will add your ideas to this site, and give you credit of course, so we can all benefit from each other!
